intense, racy, flavourful wines from this grape. Our KenRidge™ Founder’s Series
Sauvignon Blanc is straw-coloured with fresh, appealing aromas of cut grass,
gooseberry, passion fruit, melon, citrus and green pepper. These aromas carry
over to create clean, ripe, juicy, tart flavours on the palate with a gracefully
long lemon lime finish. To appreciate this Sauvignon Blanc’s crisp acidity and
refreshing style, please enjoy young.

RED WINES - MADE WITH HARVEST CRUSH™ GRAPE PACK
(fermented on the skins)
BRUNELLO - Tuscany, Italy
In Brunello, Sangiovese grapes are transformed into a wine of robust character
that is renowned throughout the world. Traditionally aged for many years in oak
barrels, this bold red wine possesses a rich garnet colour and a wealth of
complex flavours. Expect licorice, coffee, cedar and blackberry aromas that
carry through to the palate. With extended cellaring you will have a rich,
full-bodied wine with spicy complex flavours, round tannins and a very elegant,
lingering finish.
CABERNET MERLOT - California, North Coast
Direct from the famed North Coast of California comes this New World blend of
Merlot from Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County. Each varietal
introduces the perfect complement to the assemblage. Cabernet Sauvignon brings
structure and depth of flavour with rich black fruit and violet notes and Merlot
is the silky, soft, seductive partner that mellows out the mouth-feel with
flavours of plum and red berry. Fabulous in its youth with rare to medium rare
grilled red meats, such as beef tenderloin, rib eyes, T-Bone and New York
strips, or aged Canadian Cheddar. After two years of aging enjoy with beef
stews, braised meats, lentil dishes and casual sipping on cold winter evenings.
CABERNET SHIRAZ - Riverland Region, South
Australia
The blending of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon became popular among
Australian winemakers in the 1960’s. KenRidge™ Founder’s Series Shiraz/Cabernet
combines the strengths of each varietal. The intensity and structure of Cabernet
Sauvignon and the famous spicy fruit flavours of Shiraz come together to create
a rich full-bodied wine that is warm and generous with soft, rounded flavours
with a medium tannin finish. It is recommended that you cellar your
KenRidge Founder’s Series Australian Cabernet/Shiraz a minimum of 3 months.
Aging for a least a year will result in superbly developed flavours.
CARMÉNÈRE
- Chile, Maipo Valley
Carménère, once thought to be Merlot, until growers started noticing different
growing and ripening stages in some of the vineyards, was discovered through DNA
fingerprinting in 1994. Carménère, one of the grapes of Bordeaux, France was
difficult to bring into full ripeness in France’s cooler climate and has since
been removed; however, in Chile’s warmer climate it is thriving. Expect the
charm of Merlot and the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon. Flavours of blackberry,
cocoa, tobacco, currant, plum and cherry will dominate the palate. Carménère is
quickly becoming the signature grape of Chile. The rich fruit, soft tannins and
full-bodied styling suggests serving with saucy barbecued ribs, beef stews,
braised short ribs, peppercorn steaks, beef kebobs with four peppercorn dipping
sauce, grilled steaks with your favourite barbecue sauce, rich lentil dishes and
pulled pork sandwiches.
GRENACHE/SYRAH/MOUVEDRE (GSM) - Lanquedoc, France
The winemaker's of France have known for centuries that blended wines
combine the strengths of each varietal resulting in a superior wine than what
each varietal could create on its own. In this superb red, Grenache, Syrah and
Mourvedre come together to create a rich full-bodied wine boasting an intricate
collection of flavours. Its full nose has generous cherry, plum and blackberry
aromas with toasty vanilla undertones and a dash of white pepper. Initial fruit
flavours gain complexity as more spicy, earthy and savoury elements show
themselves in the warm and generous finish. A delicious Rhone-style red wine
fine yet firm tannins.
MERLOT - Chile, Maipo Valley
Soft, subtle, silky, seductive and smooth are some of the best words to describe
everything a Merlot fan is searching for. Expect lush fruit flavours of plum,
cherry and strawberry. The subtle exposure to oak will develop the next layer,
including flavours of smoke, spice and oak. Merlot makes for a great sipping
wine, however when food is on your mind, think of duck breast with cherry sauce,
lightly seasoned barbecued chicken legs and thighs, grilled steak and mushrooms,
pepperoni and mushroom pizza, cold prime rib sandwiches, meat pies, hamburgers,
pot roast, lamb shank, veal marsala and beef on a bun with dipping gravy.
PINOTAGE - South Africa, Swartland
Developed in 1925, Pinotage is a cross of Pinot Noir and Cinsault, the latter
being known as Hermitage in South Africa, hence the name. This full-bodied red
wine shows good depth of flavour, with an elegant and velvety texture.
Fruit-forward aromas and flavours of red fruits, cherry, blackberry and plum
will dominate. Through subtle oak aging, notes of cedar, spice and cocoa will
develop. The smooth, soft approach makes this a perfect wine for casual sipping,
yet there is enough structure to accompany a wide range of food items. Serve
with grilled steaks, beef bourguignon, hearty winter bean soups, ratatouille,
grilled tuna steaks, shredded pork risotto, grilled lamb and meat pies.
SHIRAZ - Australia, Riverland Region
Big, bold and beautiful. This rich, medium to full-bodied wine has won the
hearts and palates of many wine drinkers across the world. Expect rich fruit
aromas and flavours of blackberry, black cherry and plum, plus notes of cocoa,
spice, black pepper. The addition of oak aging will develop more depth and
complexity; look for flavours of cedar, smoke and leather. A very approachable
wine in its youth, yet still has the weight and fruit concentration to age for
two to four years. The rich fruit, soft tannins and full-bodied styling suggests
serving with saucy barbecued ribs, beef stews, braised short ribs, peppercorn
steaks, beef kebobs with four peppercorn dipping sauce, grilled steaks with your
favourite barbecue sauce, rich lentil dishes and pulled pork sandwiches.
SUPERTUSCAN - Tuscany, Italy

The name SuperTuscan is used to describe a class of high quality wines
not produced in accordance with Italian appellation laws. These premium Vino da
Tavola wines made in the central Italian region of Tuscany are often a blend of
Sangiovese and non-traditional Tuscan grape varieties. Our KenRidge™ Founder’s
Series SuperTuscan wine is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
It is a full-bodied, muscular, red wine with aromas and flavours of rich black
fruits, spice, vanilla, plum, leather and raisin.
TRES TINTO - Chile, Maipo Valley
Tres Tinto is Spanish for “Three Reds” and what better three reds to showcase
than the traditional blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
Cabernet Sauvignon is a consistent top performer in Chile and provides the
structure, depth of flavour, and moderate tannins desired for ageability. The
Cabernet Franc lifts the aromatics and brings forward a display of spice notes.
The Merlot rounds out the blend by providing a soft, silky charm to the palate.
The blend of these three varietals will develop aromas and flavours of black
currant, blackberry, red fruit, black pepper, herbal, tobacco and plum notes.
Fire up the barbecue! Serve with grilled steaks, beef tenderloin and meaty back
ribs. Try with shaved beef slices on crusty rolls, roast beef dinners and a meat
lover’s pizza. Aged Canadian cheddar and fresh baguette will make for the
perfect companion during a mid afternoon snack.
